KILN-DRIED: Every Southland Log Home is placed in
a high temperature Dry Kiln which removes the water and moisture from the logs. This
greatly reduces the opportunity for shrinking or settling. What you see is what you get. |

THICK WALLS: Southland's round logs are 8"
thick which provides 25% more wood than most log homes. This not only looks better, but
saves money in meeting the energy code requirements of many states. |

HIGH CEILINGS:All Southland two story homes come
with 8'6" high walls minimum, to give you full clearance of 8' under the floor beam
system where there is no cathedral ceiling. |

PRE-CUT LOG BEAM SYSTEM: A real log beam system
24" on center between the first and second floors. It is factory notched into the
side walls so there are no ugly hangers to cover. We know of no other company which offers
this eye-catching feature. |

FULL LOG GABLES: Where ever you have
heated space we use full logs to maintain the energy efficiency of your log wall system.
We use log siding only in the attic or by special request. |

PORCHES: Your Southland Log Homes'
package comes with full porch posts and lintel supports for your roof system. Only because
we pre-cut can we offer this feature to increase the beauty of your home and make it
easier to build. |

TIMBOR® TREATED LOGS AND SIDING: All
Southland logs and siding are treated with Timbor®. A natural borate solution which
provides the highest protection against insects and decay. |

GRADED LOGS: We use only the finest
timbers. Each log is individually graded under the direction of TPI to insure the quality
and integrity of every log. |

EASY ELECTRICAL WIRING: Every Southland
Log Home comes with base logs for each floor that are already grooved for your electrical
wiring. This saves much time and labor on your job site. |

OLYLOG® FASTENERS: Standard on all
Southland Log Homes' packages. An engineered metal fastener which requires no pre-drilling
or counter sinking. The patented thread pattern gives it more pulling power than other
fasteners, and because there is no need to pre-drill, it can save you up to 25% of the log
stacking time. |

EXTERIOR WOOD FINISH: A most important
part of any log home. Every Southland Log Home includes the best exterior wood finish to
protect your home and keep it beautiful for years to come. |

CAULKING: Standard with all Southland log
homes is a special 22 year caulking to seal the joints on your home. It is even a special
color. "Southland Tan" to match the logs. |

LOG SIDING: Every Southland Log Homes'
package includes log siding to cover the girder sill plates and the roof dormers. This
maintains the log look for you without having to make special foundation or roof
adjustments. |

DOORS: All Southland doors come pre-hung
with grids and are factory bored for your own lock sets. You receive national name brands
that are warranteed for 10 years |

WINDOWS: Southland's wood windows come
standard with 1x6 pine exterior trim and screens factory installed. We also use the widest
window grids available to give you that quality old fashioned look. The insulated glass
sash has a lifetime warranty. Up grades to clad windows are available by request. |

SUB-FLOOR OPTION: We do not include
materials that you or your builder may want to purchase locally unless you ask for them.
The choice is yours. Note: Many Southland Log Homes' customers choose to include all the
options so the bank can include them with payment for the log package. |

ROOF PACKAGE OPTION: Since our designers
are specifying your roof materials, they know best the materials you need. However, we
make this an option for you to choose. Remember, all Southland heavy timber roofs are made
only from kiln dried timbers and decking and are engineered to exceed R-30. |

FREIGHT: Because we kiln dry our logs,
there is no hauling of water to your job site. the lower weight requires less trucks and
freight costs can sometimes be cut in half. |
